Mission Eve
This is an upcoming book that's been on my heart for awhile. Over 25 women have already contributed to it, and I would like to invite more women to share their stories.
I have tucked away in my memory all the stories that women have shared with me over the years about their relationships with men, and one thing I have noted is that every woman has an overpowering desire to be a healer to the man who is destroying her. I believe this desire traces back to the curse in the beginning.
One of the most popular teachings on the curse is that women were doomed to desire to usurp their husbands' authority. However, this is an incorrect translation of the Hebrew. There is nothing in the original text that suggests a usurping of authority. The word used to describe Eve's side of the curse depicts a deep longing, like an unhappy yearning, and not one for authority. Even after the curse, we can still see God's original design in healthy relationships where a man shelters and cherishes his woman and she loves, desires, and esteems him. But when in an unhealthy relationship with God and men, women revert to a cursed mindset, often showing a dysfunctional submission, dependance, and longing for the man who is hurting her. She desires to fulfill his impossible demands and to heal him from the anger and pain he's experiencing.
Without shame or criticism, we need to come around women who are in this painful bind and be the support that they need to see their value, but unfortunately, many churches are doing the exact opposite. I feel these churches have betrayed women by teaching them they are cursed to want to dominate their husbands, and that they must adopt a dysfunctional kind of submission to abusive men. They have condemned women to live out the curse of Eve and suffer in ways God never required of them. Women who do not know their true value and identity as daughters of blessed Eve will believe that this kind of suffering is their destiny.
In this book, I will be exploring with the ladies who've graciously agreed to share their council how women can find their identity and value BEFORE they commit themselves to the care of a man through the covenant of marriage. It is a mission to undo all the lies that are tearing down both men and women and inspire women to know that Eve was given a far more beautiful mission and responsibility than we are told. By unlocking the identity of Eve and encouraging every woman to live in it, God can bring great healing to the world.
If you are in agreement with this mission, I would love to have your story. Please refer to the buttons on the right (or below) that will take you to a form where you can share your experience and advice to young women. All stories will be kept anonymous.
