The Kingdom of Zakar
A Three-Part Saga
A kingdom cursed by darkness.
A prophecy of hope. A never-ending law.
When rebellion strikes in the kingdom of Zakar, a dreadful curse blankets the land in darkness, filling hearts with hatred and forgetfulness. When they need him most, their king vanishes without explanation, leaving the kingdom under the protection of two young servants. Will the daunting task of preserving the kingdom be too much for these servants?
Years later, whispers of hope return as two brave souls, Chagai and Adina, take on a dangerous task to restore light to their fractured kingdom. They face betrayal, sacrifice, and the mysterious arrival of one who may hold the key to them being set free from their woes.
As the darkness grows heavier, a monstrous force of hatred threatens to destroy everything, even hopes of their long-gone king returning. How will the people’s memories be regained in time to prove their loyalties?
Explore the thoughtful allegories throughout The Kingdom of Zakar that tell of love, hope, sacrifice, redemption, and very importantly, obedience.

"The Kingdom of Zakar by Eva Silva is compelling, imaginative, and exceptionally well-written. The illustrations that accompany the text beautifully compliment the story, drawing the reader even deeper into its world. I was especially struck by Silva’s powerful use of imagery—lines such as, “It was as if a pandemic of anger had infected everyone,” and “On the day of the revolt, the whole earth thumped like a grieving heart,” linger in the mind long after the final page is turned. Silva’s The Kingdom of Zakar is a profoundly moving allegory of the Gospel, and I highly recommend it."

The Vision Behind the Book
In early 2023 I had a very strong impression on my heart that I ought to write a book that showed God's love, sacrifice, and plan of redemption for mankind through a simple yet profound story that would reach both children and adults. But this story also had to include something that is so often left unsaid: how mankind responds to God's love.
It took months to write this short story even though the most intensive part was the watercolor illustrations of which there are 66. I almost gave up many times because of how huge this project became, and I felt utterly inadequate to do it. Yet Abba kept nudging me along and kept impressing on me to see it through. I want to give Him all glory for the work He enabled me to do, and I my deepest prayer is that this book draws people closer to Him and is a blessing to whoever's hands it comes into. My lifelong desire has been to encourage others in their walk with our Messiah, and that is my vision for this book. May it remind all of the wonderful seriousness of His covenant between us.
I want to say a deep and heartfelt thank you to everyone who kept cheering me on when I was needing it, to all the ladies who lent their time helping me, and especially to Hannah Dobrott who spent hours editing each edition and giving excellent feedback! I’m also deeply grateful to David Wilber, who took time out of his busy schedule to read my manuscript and offer a kind word of support!
