This is the cover of a book that's been on my heart for awhile. I have collected in my memory all the stories that women share with me over the years about their relationships with men, and one thing I have noted is that every woman has an overpowering desire to be a healer to the man who is hurting her. I believe this behavior traces back to the curse of Eve. One of the most popular teachings on the curse of Eve is that was cursed to desire to usurp her husband's authority. However, this is an incorrect translation of the Hebrew. Nothing suggests a usurping of authority. The word used to describe Eve's curse depicts a deep longing, an unsatiable one. For a woman to desire her husband is a beautiful thing, but when this desire is twisted by the curse, then women show a dysfunctional submission, dependance, and longing for a man who is dominating and hurting her. She longs to please his impossible demands and to heal him from the anger and pain he's experiencing. 

Many church leaders will support their argument that a women is cursed to try to usurp her husband's authority by bringing up the passage where Cain was told that evil was "longing" after him and that he must rule over it. They speculate that because ruling and longing are used in the same passage here, then they must be connected in Eve's case as well. Although I find this kind of reasoning very unstable, if I were to play along with this comparison, we could understand it this way - that women would have an overpowering longing for their abuser but that they must learn to rule over that longing just as Cain was told to rule over the sinful longing inside him.

I desire to help more women understand that we were not placed here on earth to rescue all the criminals, rapists, and abusers, but that marriage is made for both men and women who have found their special calling already and are ready unify so they can to wage war on the Enemy. The only way this can be done is if we begin to break down all the false teachings that portray women as man's helper in the wrong ways. I do not have the necessary experience on how to coach women already married how to find peace in their marriages, so I will have others who are experienced write these passages for me.

We need to explore who exactly Eve was made to be before Adam and see if we can rebuild her identity through God's special guidance in each woman. I know that there is an identity deep inside of every woman, an identity beyond the precious one of being a wife and mother, that when unlocked brings true healing to this world. 

In this book, I am sharing hundreds of testimonies from different women who have experienced the worst side of men. Through the lessons learned in their stories of either escaping these relationships or enduring in special circumstances, I hope we can help young single women prepare for their unique calling, whether they are to marry or not.
