Faith Capacity

I believe Abba works within our faith capacity. We struggle to have faith when we are tested, to believe that He will show up. Sometimes it feels like we have to wait forever to see Him do anything in the areas of our lives we're longing for change (I'm sure Abraham wondered why it was taking so long sometimes!)
I've noticed every time I go through a season of waiting and testing, He waits for me get past a great struggle and to reach a state of submission. Can't we just skip the struggle? No. I don't believe so. I believe that struggle is crucial for our faith capacity to grow. If we didn't feel the fear and pain, we wouldn't get stretched out of our comfort zone.
Sometimes I think about the reasons why He doesn't do the great things that He did in Jesus' time, but then I remember that He's actually still doing those things - just not very often on this side of the globe. I believe that's because our faith capacity is very low here. There still are people with great faith, and He's doing mighty works in their lives, but it isn't widespread.
Mark 6:5,6 And he could do no mighty work there, except that he laid his hands on a few sick people and healed them. And he marveled because of their unbelief...
I think about how much we often depend on doctors, and how sometimes people have seen miracles done through doctors. Didn't He heal the sick? Raise the dead? Why does He even use doctors if He could do it without them? Well, faith capacity. Every one of us is at a stage in our faith journey where we can only believe so far. He is well aware of the struggle we are in. He is so understanding of where we are at that I believe He allows our little faith to limit Him for a time as He continues to stretch us.
Since I was little I had the belief that He could do the impossible, but my faith capacity has limited Him constantly. I see the more I struggle against my limits, the more I allow Him to painfully stretch my out of the comfort zone, the greater things He begins to do in my life.
So, all that to say, don't be angry at yourself for feeling that struggle. It's what you need. It's growing your faith capacity. Embrace the unknown. Embrace uncertainty. Embrace that struggle!
